Christy and Darshak’s Elopement in Celebration, Florida
Christy and Darshak met while working as teachers in the same school. They quickly fell in love and started dating. After six years together, they decided to get married.
They wanted a small, intimate wedding with just their children present. They decided to have their wedding in Celebration, Florida, a town that was built by Disney.
They worked with Intimate Weddings of Orlando to plan their elopement. The company helped them find the perfect venue, Rev. Glynn Ferguson, an official Walt Disney World wedding officiant, and Dianne with Married by Mail, who helped them obtain their Florida Marriage License.
On the day of their wedding, Christy and Darshak were surrounded by their children in a beautiful park in Celebration. Rev. Ferguson officiated a touching and personal ceremony. He gave them a homework assignment to write and tell him why they love each other
Christy wrote: Darshak is one of the calmest people I know. He never gets angry, always takes a laid back approach to any challenge he faces. Which is the complete opposite of me. He is the Ying to my Yang. Darshak is an amazing father and treats my son as if he were his own. He reads with our children, is interested in what interests them, and teaches them life lessons daily. He is a very involved father and even takes days off of work to go help in our children’s classes. He works hard at providing for us and together we are creating a beautiful life. While it was not love at first sight for me, I remember the day I met him. Never in a million years did I think this would be the man I would end up with. But the universe knew he was what I needed. It hasn’t always been easy, but it has always been worth it.
Darshak wrote: I love Christy for lots of reasons. Christy has a strong personality. She is confident. She is beautiful. She is a good partner. She is a great mother. She is an excellent teacher. I love that Christy is loud and speaks up for herself. She is not afraid of hurting people’s feelings (in a good way) and would rather express her feelings than to hold them in. I love that Christy is confident in what she does. And when she is wrong (which is not often), she admits it. I love that Christy is a planner and has a plan for our future, including our three children. She is always working toward a better future and pushes us to be better ourselves. She works to continuously improve herself, even through difficult times. I love how direct she is with our children. There is no beating around the bush or sugar-coating things. She tells us how it is, and I think that is the best lesson for our children. I love her blond hair, her tall stature, and her big nose. I remember the day I met her on the golf course like it was yesterday and thinking how beautiful she was. I am thankful for our friends for bringing us together. Plus, she has a good sense of direction (big nose joke).
After the ceremony, Edmund with Rhodes Studios Photography and Video took photos of Christy and Darshak all over Celebration. They captured the magic of the couple’s special day perfectly.
Lesley with Flowers by Lesley created a beautiful blush pink bouquet and matching boutonniere for Christy and Darshak. The colors were rich and matched the couple’s attire perfectly.
Christy and Darshak’s elopement was a beautiful and memorable event. They were surrounded by their loved ones, and they were able to celebrate their love for each other in a special way.
